Four Corners began in 2002 (with a little help from my mother). You could say that importing and trading have run through the family veins since 1968, when my Indian parents made New Zealand their new home. They used to import, wholesale and retail a variety of Indian homewares and gifts; everything from incense and brass elephants to glass beads and silk and cotton fabrics by the metre. Part of my childhood (and many a school holiday) was spent polishing brass ornaments out the back of the shop or chatting to the machinists as they whipped up made-to-order Indian cotton dresses and kaftans. More than twenty five years later, I still love the "exotic". Travelling, sourcing and working alongside manufacturers and crafts people is one of my most favourite things to do.
Four Corners started out in a suburban Christchurch storeroom, otherwise known as “Mum’s Garage”. My mother and I would pack orders on the bonnet of her car till midnight, share a cup of tea and have a good laugh. As the business has grown so has the network of places to visit and interesting people to meet. Over all these years one thing has stayed the same - it is the passion that has driven us ever since we started.
We believe in uniqueness, creativity and a level of quality that comes with doing something we love. Since 2008, we have been supplying some of New Zealand’s top retailers through our sales representative and trade exhibition network. We have showcased our range at 50+ trade shows in New Zealand and Australia, flown thousands of miles to source product, graced the covers of numerous magazines and featured in various editorial pages whilst working alongside some fantastic industry participants.
Four Corners is a New Zealand owned business built on the desire to showcase beautiful things to discerning customers. We are proud of our reputation, our presentation and our innovation as a small New Zealand business. In recent years we have ventured into design and manufacturing in order to create a selection of unique Four Corners jewellery made in New Zealand, from locally sourced and imported materials.
We now invite you to share our dream, explore our website and enjoy the uniqueness that is Four Corners.
